History: Team 8
Team 8 was an AKB48 team that was initially a project in collaboration with Toyota (from 2014 to 2021). Their concept was "idols who go meet you" and each member of the team comes from one of the 47 prefectures of Japan.
The team was formed on April 3rd, 2014, and went on indefinite hiatus after the AKB48 Team 8 Soukessan Matsuri 9-nenkan no Kiseki concert on April 30th, 2023.
2014
- April 3 - Team 8 revealed: Abe Mei, Iwasaki Moeka, Okabe Rin, Okubora Chinatsu, Oguri Yui, Ota Nao, Oda Erina, Onishi Momoka, Kita Reina, Gyoten Yurina, Kuranoo Narumi, Kondo Moeri, Sakaguchi Nagisa, Sato Akari, Sato Shiori, Sato Nanami, Shitao Miu, Shimizu Maria, Shimoaoki Karin, Takaoka Kaoru, Takahashi Ayane, Tani Yuri, Tanikawa Hijiri, Cho Kurena, Nakano Ikumi, Nagano Serika, Hashimoto Haruna, Hama Sayuna, Hamamatsu Riona, Hayasaka Tsumugi, Hitomi Kotone, Hidaritomo Ayaka, Hirose Natsuki, Fukuchi Rena, Fujimura Natsuki, Honda Hitomi, Miyazato Rira, Mogi Kasumi, Moriwaki Yui, Yaguchi Moka, Yamada Nanami, Yamamoto Ai, Yamamoto Ruka, Yokomichi Yuri, Yokoyama Yui, Yoshikawa Nanase, Yoshino Miyu.
- June 18 - Okubora Chinatsu graduated from Team 8. The new Gifu representative will be decided on a audition to be held from June 20 to July 4.

- December 23 - Team 8 National Tour 〜47 no Suteki na Machi e〜 started.
2015
- January 26 - Moriwaki Yui graduated from Team 8. The new Fukuoka representative will be decided on a audition.
- March 26 - AKB48 Spring Shuffle 2015.
- Yamada Nanami to have a concurrent position in Team A.
- Nakano Ikumi to have a concurrent position in Team K.
- Sakaguchi Nagisa to have a concurrent position in Team B.
