Though outgoing during performances, she is known to be shy during MCs.

She is called "Naginagi" by members. This is the inspiration for the name of her official YouTube channel, "Nagingai Tube".
She was good friends with former member Matsumura Miku. The two formed a combi together, "Angel Master and Disciple", where Nagisa was the "Angel Master" and Miku was the "Disciple".
She met HKT48's Unjo Hirona in the final round of the AKB48 Team 8 audition in Hokkaido. Nagisa was selected as the Hokkaido representative, while Hirona would later go on to debut with HKT48.
Theater manager Hosoi Takahiro described her as strong-willed and hardworking in everything. Mogi Kasumi echoed that she is a hard worker, while Yokoyama Yui commented that she is like everyone's little sister.
She collects music boxes and snow globes.
She feels most comfortable when doing work in Hokkaido Prefecture.
In her 8th Sousenkyo speech she stated her wish for Team 8 to make their CD debut.
She, along with Nakano Ikumi and Yamada Nanami, were the first Team 8 members to receive a kennin position in a regular AKB48 team.
In March 2016 she appeared as a regional voice actress for the McDonalds Japan animated video "Future I". She played the role of a new crew member. Her version of the commercial was aired in Hokkaido, as other Team 8 members voiced the commercial in their home regions.
She once accidentally wore a T-Shirt from Oita Prefecture during the encore part of a theater performance rather than her correct costume.
In October 2019 she became a tourism ambassador for the city of Asahikawa, and in March 2020 she became a tourism ambassador for Hokkaido Prefecture.
She was a regular model for "LOVE BERRY" until the magazine stopped publication in 2017.
She is the only remaining Hokkaido & Tohoku area representative for Team 8 after the graduation of Mitomo Mashiro on December 24th, 2022.

2014

In March, was selected as the Hokkaido representative for Team 8 out of 544 applications.
On April 3rd, was officially revealed as a member of AKB48's Team 8 (Team 8 formation).
On June 24th, had her first appearance on AKBINGO!. She was one of 15 selected Team 8 members that performed Koi Suru Juuden Prius with Sashihara Rino.
On July 29th, was one of 16 selected Team 8 members that performed 47 no Suteki na Machi e on AKBINGO!.
On August 6th, had her theater debut at the shonichi performance of Team 8's 1st Stage, PARTY ga Hajimaru yo.
On August 27th, was part of her first song, 47 no Suteki na Machi e, on AKB48's 37th single Kokoro no Placard.
On October 5th, the local broadcast "Nagisa-chan no Mirai! Try! TV" (なぎさちゃんのミライ！トライ！ティービー) started airing on the channel UHB.
On November 26th, held her first double center position for the song Ima, Happy on AKB48's 38th single Kibouteki Refrain.

2015

On March 23rd, at the AKB48 Spring Concert 〜Jikiso Imada Shugyouchu!〜, received a kennin position in Kizaki Team B.
On May 15th, was part of the opening performance at the "Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters vs. Orix Buffaloes" game held at Sapporo Dome.
On May 20th, was part of her first senbatsu for AKB48's 40th single, Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai.
On November 22nd, had her first appearance for Team 8's 2nd stage, Aitakatta.
On December 26th, was part of the shonichi performance of Team B's 6th stage, Tadaima Renaichuu.

2016

On June 18th, at the 8th Senbatsu Election, ranked for the first time at #70 (Upcoming Girls).
On July 26th, attended a fan meeting in Hong Kong with Oguri Yui and Kuranoo Narumi
On September 3rd, became the ambassador for "Made in Hokkaido".

2017

On January 14th, held her first solo concert, Team 8 Sakaguchi Nagisa Solo Concert ~Shinshun! Team 8 Matsuri "Sakaguchi Nagisa no Ran"~.
On September 2nd, appeared at the shonichi performance of Team 8's 3rd stage, Kimi mo 8 (Eito) de Nakou janai ka.
On December 8th, at the AKB48 12th Anniversary Shuffle, her kennin position was transferred to Murayama Team 4.

2018

On March 3rd, the Red Cross nominated her as the "Hokkaido ♥ Blood Donation Promotion Girl" (北海道♥献血推進ガール).

On June 16th, moved up to Next Girls by ranking 47th at the 10th Senbatsu Election.
