- She was given the name Maria because she was born in a praying pose.

- She was the captain of the basketball club in middle school and played center.
- She was the first AKB48 member to be from Gunma Prefecture.
- She auditioned for AKB48 twice before joining Team 8. She even turned down auditions for other idol groups because she was set on joining AKB48. She has liked AKB48 since elementary school.
- She attended an all-girls high school on a study-intensive (accelerated) course. She had to switch to the regular course for her final year because she was missing so much school.
- Her homeroom teacher was very supportive of her activities. Sadly they passed away on August 8th, 2015, and never got to see Maria perform as an idol. Team 8 did not have a concert in Gunma until 4 months after that.
- After joining AKB48 she would try to not talk about her idol life with her friends because she didn’t want them to think she was using her idol status to feel superior. She even began to sit alone during lunch in her second year of high school, to avoid making her friends feel like they had to spend time with her on the rare days she could attend school.
- She developed a phobia against men (especially men in school uniforms) due to being called ugly on the way to school in her first year of high school. She confessed that she had a hard time in the beginning of her AKB48 career interacting with male fans at handshake events. Fortunately it has gotten easier over time.

- She was a member of the korokke team in the AKB48 Cooking Senbatsu Competition.

2014
- On April 3rd, joined AKB48 as a member of its Team 8 (Team 8 Formation).
- On August 6th, had her theater debut with Team 8's PARTY ga Hajimaru yo stage.
- On August 27th, was part of her first AKB48 song, 47 no Suteki na Machi e, on the group's 37th single Kokoro no Placard.
- On November 18th, had her first appearance on AKBINGO!.
2015
- On April 29th, assumed the position of "Gunma Tourism Special Envoy."
- On September 5th, had her first appearance at Team 8's Aitakatta stage.
- On November 7th and 8th, was one of the 12 selected Team 8 members that performed on Cool Japan Festival at Manila, Philippines.
2016
- In March, obtained her driver's license.
- On December 4th, was one of the 12 selected Team 8 members that performed on Philippines-Japan Friendship Celebration at Manila, Philippines.
2017
- On February 28th, appeared in the shonichi performance of AKB48's special stage Minerva yo, Kaze wo Okose.
- On September 2nd, had her first appearance in Team 8's Kimi mo 8 (Eito) de Nakou janai ka.
- From November 1st to 5th, appeared in the stage play "Hanamachi Oiran Chronicle" (花街花魁クロニクル).
- On December 8th, at the AKB48 12th Anniversary Shuffle, it was announced she would receive a kennin position in Takahashi Team B.
2018
- On July 24th, had her final appearance on AKBINGO!.

- On October 30th, in a SHOWROOM together with Oda Erina, announced she would be transferred to the talent agency YK Agent, to which former AKB48 member Tano Yuka belongs.

- On September 3rd, tested positive for COVID-19 and went on hiatus.
- On September 13th, resumed her activities.
