- Her original nickname was Sakippe (さきっぺ), but hardly anyone called her by it. She officially changed it to Sakiko in 2012.
- Fellow members gave her other nicknames as well. These included Sakiko-san, Sacchan, Sakiccho, Sakipo, Pokochi, Sakky, Sentanko, SAKKO-chan, and Matsuko.
- She is former member of MINT, the winner unit of the AmebaPigg Unit Battle.
- She is former member of Culture Club.
- She failed AKB48's 6th generation auditions.
- During her time as an AKB48 member she was concurrently a student specializing in piano at Tokyo College of Music. She is the only AKB48 member to attend a college of music.
