AKB48 Group Yume no Kouhaku Senbatsu
The AKB48 Group Yume no Kouhaku Senbatsu (AKB48グループ夢の紅白選抜) was a senbatsu election held on December 31, 2016, at the annual NHK Kouhaku Utagassen.
Differences with regular Senbatsu Sousenkyo
- Voting
- In the original Senbatsu Sousenkyo, fans would be able to vote by buying a specific AKB48 CD, getting a serial code from the CD, entering this on the specified website and choosing their oshimen. The more CDs you bought, the more votes you were able to contribute.
- In this special election, anyone within Japan could vote via the specified website, no purchase necessary. The only caveat was that you were limited to 1 vote per device.
- Prize
- In the original Senbatsu Sousenkyo, the winner would become the Center of the next AKB48 single to be released after the election, including all the promotions and marketing that is included in that.
- In this special election, the winner would become the center for one song at the NHK Kouhaku Utagassen.
