She has an older brother.

She was inspired to join AKB48 after seeing the Team 8 audition announcement in her second year of high school, thinking it would be a good opportunity to live a life she could be proud of.
She practiced jazz ballet from 3rd grade of elementary school.
She designed the logo for the Team 8 National Tour and the Team 8 1st Anniversary T-shirt, and also Team 8's mascot (Eight-kun)
Her catchphrase was thought of by staff members.
Her speaking voice is said to sound like Maeda Atsuko's.
Fellow Team 8 members from the Kanto Region have described her as funny, calm, clever, and mature.
She likes clothing with rips, holes, or distressing details. Mukaichi Mion joked that Rin dresses nicely for Instagram photos, but in private her personal clothes have so many rips that they look like they came from the trash.
She likes collecting stationery and browsing home decoration catalogs.

She has a habit of correcting people for mispronouncing "Ibaraki". When Sata, host of AKBINGO!, pronounced "Ibaraki" as "Ibaragi", she corrected him twice during the show.
She was one of the 15 selected Team 8 members that performed Koi Suru Juuden Prius with Sashihara Rino on AKBINGO! on June, 2014.
In May 2015 she appeared as a live broadcast reporter for the Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race in Germany. She returned to Japan two days later.
She made her voice acting debut in 2016 as a McDonald's Crew Member in the McDonald's Japan animation "Future Me".
In January 2018 she was made an official Ambassador of Ibaraki Prefecture by Governor Oikawa Kazuhiko.
In November 2021 she was made the image model in a campaign against drunk driving in Ibaraki Prefecture.
In AKB48 Sayonara Mouri-san she admitted that when AKB48 staff hold virtual meetings with the members late at night, she has joined in while sitting in the bathtub. She explained that everyone has their cameras and microphones turned off anyway, so it isn't a problem if she happens to be bathing.

2014

On April 3rd, joined AKB48 through its Team 8.
On June 4th, had her first appearance on AKB48 no Anta, Dare?.
On July 8th, had her first appearance on AKBINGO!.
On August 6th, had her stage debut for Team 8's PARTY ga Hajimaru yo stage.
On August 27th, was part of her first AKB48 song 47 no Suteki na Machi e, on the group's 37th single Kokoro no Placard.
On October 11th, had her first appearance on AKB48 SHOW!.

2016

On February 14th, was part of the shonichi performance for Team 8's Aitakatta stage.

2017

On September 10th, was part of her first senbatsu position for AKB48's 50th single, 11gatsu no Anklet.
On November 7th and 8th, was one of the 12 selected Team 8 members that performed on Cool Japan Festival at Manila, Philippines-
On December 8th, at AKB48's 12th Anniversary, received a kennin position in Team A and was also made the captain (Okabe Team A).

2018

2019

On June 30th, was part of the shonichi performance for AKB48's Boku no Natsu ga Hajimaru stage, produced by Kashiwagi Yuki.

2020

On December 16th, it was announced she would be affiliated with the agency HoriPro.
On December 23rd, appeared in the January 2021 issue of BIG ONE GIRLS, alongside the AKB48 soukantoku Mukaichi Mion and the other team captains (Komiyama Haruka, Iwatate Saho and Murayama Yuiri).

2021

On December 8th, at the AKB48 16th Anniversary Team Shuffle, kept her concurrent position in Team A but lost her captain role for that team.

2022

From July 23rd to August 2nd, was scheduled to appear in the Japanese version of the Broadway musical "Peter Pan" as Wendy. However, she was only able to perform the first couple of days (see next line).
On July 26th, tested positive for COVID-19 and had to enter self-isolation and a hiatus.
On August 5th, resumed activities.
