History

2005

  • At the age of 13, she joined AKB48 on October 30th as a member of the first Generation, also known as the Original Team A. She was the second youngest member after Masuyama Kayano.
  • On December 8th she was part of the Grand Theatre Opening in Akihabara, Tokyo during AKB48's first stage performance; this marks the day of the AKB48 Anniversary now.

2006

2007

  • Minegishi was part of the AKB48 drama movie "Ashita no Watashi no Tsukurikata" (English Title: How to Become Myself).
  • She was also part of the AKB48 satiric horror movie "Densen Uta" (English Title: Contagious Song).

2008

  • Starting on January 24th, Minegishi became a regular member to appear on AKB48's first personal variety show AKB 1ji 59fun!. In April, the show's title was changed to AKB 0ji 59fun!. After having two successful seasons, the show was again retitled to AKBINGO! in October.
  • From August 28th to October 2nd, Minegishi was a regular on the NHK drama "Cat's Street".
  • On August 22nd, Minegishi released her first solo book SOUTH. In December there was also a Behind the Scenes DVD released under the same title.
  • Together with Kojima Haruna and Takahashi Minami, she was cast in the comedic drama "Men★dol ~Ikemen Idol~". It was about three girls not making the cut as idols, so they pretended to be male and formed a boy group called "Persona." As Persona, the three of them released the songs 3seconds and Christmas Present. At the end of the drama, they presented themselves as the new female idol group No Sleeves and sang their first single Relax!. No Sleeves became an official sub-unit of AKB48 after this, and Relax! was their first single (released November 26th).

2009

  • In AKB48's first AKB48 General Election, Minegishi reached rank 16, making her a senbatsu member for the 13th single Iiwake Maybe.
  • From July 7th to September 8th, Minegishi was part of the drama "Koishi te Akuma~Vampire☆Boy".
  • During the 2009 Team Shuffle, Minegishi was transferred to Team K.

2010

2011

  • From February 26th to March 2nd, she was a cast member of the AKB48 drama TV series Sakura Kara no Tegami.
  • Minegishi was again chosen to appear in Majisuka Gakuen 2, which started on April 15th.
  • Released on June 4, was part of the cast for Moshidora.
  • No Sleeves released their first self-titled album "No Sleeves. The Limited Type C Edition featured Minegishi on a solo jacket, as well as her first solo song Watashi wa Watashi. Furthermore, Minegishi's unit song from the AmebagPigg Unit Battle, "Shaku ga Hoshii", was also included on her album version. The album managed to reach #1 on the Oricon Weekly Charts and debuted at #1 on the Daily Charts.
  • During the second Janken Taikai, Minegishi ranked third and thus made senbatsu for the 24th single Ue Kara Mariko.

2012

  • Airing from April 13th to June 29th on HBC and from April 16th to June 25th, she was part of the drama "Super Girl".
  • On August 24th, she was transferred to Umeda Team B.

2013

  • Due to news that were published the tabloid "Bunshun Weekly", Minegishi was demoted to Kenkyuusei status on February 1st. She also cut her hair drastically.
  • Despite her scandal and uncertain future, Minegishi ranked at 18th in the General Election.
  • On August 24th, she was made Team captain of Team 4 during Day 3 of the Tokyo Dome Concert of the AKB48 5 Big Dome Concert Tour.

2014

  • For the 32nd single So long!, Minegishi was one of the actresses for the drama video that was filmed by Team B.
  • On June 20th, activities paused due to medical treatment as Minegishi was diagnosed with a renal cyst.

2015

  • During the AKB48 Spring Shuffle 2015, Minegishi was apppointed Team Captain of Team K.
  • She was part of episode 35 of "AKB48 Horror Night Adrenalin Night".
  • She was also part of episode 9 of "AKB48 Love Night Factory".

2016

  • Before Takahashi Minami's graduation concert, Minegishi did the introduction ("Kage Ana"). She was also part of almost every MC, and they performed Junai no Crescendo as No Sleeves.
  • Minegishi was cast for the movie "Joshikou" (Girls High School), which was released on April 9th.
  • During the General Election, she was voted into 17th place, which made her the Undergirls Center for Densetsu no Sakana.
  • On July 12th, her second photobook "Watashi wa Watashi" was released.

2017

  • Like at Takahashi's graduation, Minegishi did the Kage Ana for Kojima Haruna's graduation concert. Again, they performed Junai no Crescendo. After Haruna's graduation process was finished, Minegishi was officially left as the last member of the 1st Generation/Original Team A.
  • During a SHOWROOM Livestream on September 5th together with Takahashi Minami and Kojima Haruna, it was announced that the agency Minegishi is now affiliated with is "Mama & Son", a sub-corporate of Ogi.

2018

2019

  • On February 2nd, appeared on the variety show Saturday Plus as a guest host.
  • On February 7th, appeared as an MC on the radio show UPARETE Yasushima.
  • On March 20th, appeared in the variety show Baguette.
  • From March 29th to April 15th, appeared in the traditional style stage drama, Futari Okuni. It is a Kabuki style dance theater.
  • On April 5th, appeared in the TV Asahi drama "Rikon na Futari" (Divorced Two).
  • From August 9th to 18th, a solo photo exhibition in cooperation with photographer Takahashi Yuya was held in Shibuya.
  • On December 8th, at AKB48's 14th Anniversary Stage, announced her graduation during the AKB48 Anniversary stage. She also announced she would not drink any alcohol any longer to become healthier for her graduation performance.

2020

  • On February 21st, had her 1,000th theater performance.
  • On March 18th, was part of her first senbatsu again for the single Shitsuren, Arigatou since 11gatsu no Anklet in 2017.
    • The single would also include her graduation song.
  • On April 2nd, her graduation concert was supposed to take place but had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • On June 21st, appeared in the first MiiYuki Social Distance Stage with Kashiwagi Yuki.
  • On August 31st, appeared in the second MiiYuki Social Distance Stage with Kashiwagi Yuki.
  • On September 1st, wrote and published her first own article in the Mirror Asahi online magazine and opened about problems with self-confidence, substance abuse and loneliness.
  • On October 1st, started her own radio show, "Minegishi Minami no Yappari Kyou mo Homeraretai" (峯岸みなみのやっぱり今日も褒められたい) (Minegishi Minami's I Want to be Praised Again Today After All).
  • On November 23rd, hosted AKB48 e-Sports Tournament 〜Hanarete Tsuyokunatta Mono, wa Hommono.〜.
  • On November 24th, =LOVE (Equal Love) released the music video for their song "Shukipi" (しゅきぴ), which Minami directed.

2021

  • On February 11th, had her final handshake event (online).
  • On February 16th, appeared on the variety show "London Hearts."
  • On March 29th, it was announced that her graduation concert would be held on May 23rd, at the PIA Arena MM.
  • On May 23rd, held her graduation concert "Minegishi Minami Graduation Concert ~Sakura no Sakanai Haru wa Nai~." She centered a total of 20 songs.
  • On May 28th, held her final theater performance.
  • On October 30th, appeared in "Unlucky Girl" as Nonaka Miki.
  • On November 8th, the CM for MISHONE featuring Minami was released.
