She only shouted the opening lyric "Let's go!" and then swayed in place silently for the rest of the song. Akimoto Yasushi asked her afterword if she went to karaoke often.
- Her nickname was thought of by Yonezawa Rumi, who also created Watanabe Mayu's "Mayuyu".
- In addition to "Paruru" she was also called "Zakkii" (ザッキー). In her private life she is sometimes called "Haa-chan" (はーちゃん).
- She is called "Ponkotsu" by fans online, which loosely means "Can't Do Anything Right". This came from instances like her dancing in the wrong place during the Japanese Record Awards or looking tired during theater shows.
- She describes her personality as "my pace", straightforward, and mentally weak. However, she became more persistent after joining AKB48.
- She is bad at drawing and athletics. She also considers herself bad at singing and dancing.
- She was known to have "salty" treatment (塩対応 shiotaiou) towards her fans. She would be cold or apathetic towards meeting them, especially at handshake events.
- This was apparent in fan photo-events, where she chose to stand behind a short partition instead of at a table with the fan.
- Despite this, some members said she has a warm side. Yokoyama Yui said that Haruka often gave letters to members, and when they were sharing a hotel room, Haruka wrote "You can do it!" on a memo pad and left it by Yui's pillow.
- She practiced saka agari (reverse pull-ups) at the park with her dad when she was younger. During the 2013 Mechaike Sports Meet, she became frustrated when she was not able to demonstrate a saka agari successfully.
- She likes sleeping and once slept for 14 hours straight.
- She loves idols. Her favorite group was Tokyo Girls' Style.
- She was afraid to ride a train by herself before joining AKB48.

- In September, joined AKB48 as part of its 9th Generation.
- On November 15th, had her theater debut with the other AKB48 Kenkyuusei of the 8th and 9th Generation at the Idol no Yoake stage.
