On April 20, 2016, [[STAR48]] held a press conference in Beijing and announced the launch of a sister group landing plan covering all core cities across the country. Through the construction of multiple independently operated sister groups, SNH48's business model has entered a new ecologicalization In the development stage, the first batch of SNH48 sister groups [[BEJ48]] and [[GNZ48]] were released for the first time. On June 2, 2017, the management announced the establishment of [[CKG48]], the fourth sister group of SNH48 with Chongqing as their location, at the launching ceremony of the [[SNH48 4th Senbatsu Election]]. On September 25, 2017, the management announced that it would establish [[CGT48]], but related plans have been canceled. Among the sister groups, the teams of SHY48 and CKG48 were disbanded after [[SNH48 Group Grand Shuffle 2019]] in January 2019. Although CKG48 announced its reorganization in March of the same year, the composition of its members and groups is not the same as before the reorganization.

  • IDOLS Ft (short for Idol Studio Ft) also known as IDFt is an Chinese internet-based idol training group associated with SNH48. It is established on January 19, 2019. Members interact with their fans through their own channels such as Pocket48 and SNS as part of a STAR48 plan to realize a completely internet-based idol development operation model.
  • JNR48 (short for JuNioR48) is a group project created by Shanghai Xiaoyuan Art Troupe and licensed by STAR48 with members from 6 to 14 years old.
