Hinatazaka46 History

Hinatazaka46 (日向坂46) is a Japanese Idol Group and the 3rd group of the Sakamichi Series. They were formerly known as Hiragana Keyakizaka46, a sub-group within Keyakizaka46, until they became an independent group on February 11, 2019.

2015

• November 30 - It was announced on Keyakitte, Kakenai? that auditions for a group within Keyakizaka46, called Hiragana Keyakizaka46 (けやき坂46), would begin.
  • Nagahama Neru was to become the first member of this sub-group, while maintaining a concurrency with Kanji Keyakizaka46.

2016

• May 8 - The eleven candidates that successfully passed the "Hiragana Keyakizaka46 Auditions" were announced on SHOWROOM.
  • Those candidates would become Hiragana Keyakizaka46 1st Generation: Iguchi Mao, Ushio Sarina, Kakizaki Memi, Kageyama Yuka, Kato Shiho, Saito Kyoko, Sasaki Kumi, Sasaki Mirei, Takase Mana, Takamoto Ayaka, and Higashimura Mei.
• December 24 & 25 - The group participates in Keyakizaka46 One Man Live with Kanji Keyakizaka46.

2017

March

• 21 & 22 - The Hiragana Keyakizaka46 Zepp Tokyo Stage is held. During the performance, it was announced that the group will go on a tour of Zepp Venues around Japan, titled the Hiragana National Tour 2017.

April

• 6 - The group participates in Keyakizaka46 1st Anniversary Live with Kanji Keyakizaka46.
  • There, it was announced that auditions for Hiragana Keyakizaka46 2nd Generation will begin.

May

• 31 - The Hiragana National Tour 2017 tour begins in Osaka. The tour would continue until December 13th, where it would conclude at Makuhari Messe.

July

• 18 - KEYABINGO!3 begins airing, with the Hiragana members featured alongside the Kanji Keyakizaka46 members. The show would continue airing until September 26th.
• 22 & 23 - The group participates in Keyaki Republic 2017 with Kanji Keyakizaka46.

August

• 2 - 30 - The group participates in the Keyakizaka46 National Tour 2017 "Masshirona Mono wa Yogoshitaku Naru" with Kanji Keyakizaka46.
• 15 - The nine successful candidates that passed the Hiragana Keyakizaka46 2nd Generation auditions are announced.
  • These candidates were: Kanemura Miku, Kawata Hina, Kosaka Nao, Tomita Suzuka, Nibu Akari, Hamagishi Hiyori, Matsuda Konoka, Miyata Manamo, and Watanabe Miho.

September

• 25 - Nagahama Neru's concurrency with Hiragana Keyakizaka46 is cancelled, and she become a full member of Kanji Keyakizaka46.

October

• 13 - The group's first drama, Re:Mind is released on Netflix.
• 20 - Re:Mind begins its television broadcast on TV Tokyo.

2018

January

• 30 - The Hiragana Keyaki Nippon Budoukan 3DAYS!! Concert begins, continuing for three days until February 1st.

March

• 10 - The Sakamichi Joint New Member Recruitment Audition is announced, recruiting members for both Kanji and Hiragana Keyakizaka46.

April

• 8 - Hiragana Oshi, the group's first independent variety program, begins.
• 16 - KEYABINGO!3 begins airing, this time solely focusing on the Hiragana members.
• 20 - AYUMI, the group's first stage play, begins. Performances are held until May 6th.

June

• 1 - Kageyama Yuka goes on hiatus due to academic priorities.
• 3 - Sasaki Kumi is appointed as captain of the group during an "Emergency" SHOWROOM.
• 4 - The Hiragana Keyakizaka46 "Hashiridasu Shunkan" Tour 2018 begins in Kanagawa. The tour would continue until July 10th, where it would conclude at Makuhari Messe.
• 20 - Hashiridasu Shunkan, Hiragana Keyakizaka46's first album, is released.

July

• 20 - 22 - The group participates in Keyaki Republic 2018 with Kanji Keyakizaka46.

August

• 3 - The group performs at Tokyo Idol Festival 2018 for the first time.

November

• 16 - 25 - Kosaka Nao, Saito Kyoko, Kakizaki Memi, and Kato Shiho participate in the Sakamichi Series joint project, stage play Zambi.
• 29 - The applicants who passed the Sakamichi Joint New Member Recruitment Audition are announced, with 1 member assigned as a Hiragana Keyakizaka46 3rd Generation member.
  • This member was Kamimura Hinano.

December

• 10 - The group wins the "Best New Asian Artist Japan" award at the "Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA)" in South Korea.
  • At the event, they also perform Kitai Shitenai Jibun.
• 11 - 13 - Hiragana Christmas 2018 is held at the Nippon Budoukan.

February

• 7 - 17 - Matsuda Konoka, Ushio Sarina, and Sasaki Kumi participate in the second iteration of the Zambi project, stage play Zambi - Theater's End.
• 11 - Hiragana Keyakizaka46 becomes it's own independent group, Hinatazaka46.

March

• 1 - In a showroom, the members revealed the official name for Hinatazaka46 fans, "Ohisama".
• 5 & 6 - Hinatazaka46 Debut Countdown Live is held at the Yokohama Arena.
• 23 - The group performs at LAGUNA MUSIC FES.2019.
• 27 - Kyun, Hinatazaka46's first single, is released.

April

• 7 - Hiragana Oshi is renewed as Hinatazaka de Aimashou, becoming the group's first variety show as Hinatazaka46.
• 15 - HINABINGO!, Hinatazaka46's second variety show, begins airing on NTV until September 24th.

June

• 21 - Hamagishi Hiyori announces her hiatus from all Hinatazaka46 activities due to poor physical condition.

July

• 17 - Doremisolasido, Hinatazaka46's second single, is released.

August

• 3 - The group performs at Tokyo Idol Festival 2019 for the second time, and first time as Hinatazaka46.
• 11 - Kakizaki Memi graduates from the group.
• 28 - Tachi Kogi, Hinatazaka46's first photobook, is released.

October

• 2 - Konna ni Suki ni Natchatte Ii no?, Hinatazaka46's third single, is released.

September

• 8 - Iguchi Mao announced her hiatus from the group as she was caught in a scandal.
• 26 - Hinatazaka46 3rd Single Release Commemorative One-Man Live is held at the Saitama Super Arena.

December

• 17 & 18 - Hinakuri 2019 ～17nin no Santa Claus to Sora no Christmas～ is held at Makuhari Messe.
• 30 - The group performs Doremisolasido at the 61st Japan Record Awards.
• 31 - The group performs Kyun at the 70th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen, marking their 1st appearance on the program.
  • The group also joined in Nogizaka46's performance of Synchronicity.

2020

January

• 15 - DASADA, Hinatazaka46's first drama, begins airing on NTV and Hulu.

February

• 4 & 5 - Hinatazaka46 x DASADA LIVE&FASHION SHOW is held at the Yokohama Arena.
• 16 - Three Sakamichi Kenshusei trainees are assigned to Hinatazaka46.
  • These trainees were: Takahashi Mikuni, Morimoto Marie, and Yamaguchi Haruyo.
• 19 - Sonna Koto Nai yo, Hinatazaka46's fourth single, is released.
  • Hamagishi Hiyori resumed her activities from the release of the single.

March

• 2 - Iguchi Mao graduates from the group.
• 14 - The program Hinatazaka46 desu. Chotto Ii Desu Ka? begins airing on HikariTV and dTV.

April

• 5 - Hinatazaka46's regular group radio program Hinatazaka no "Hi" begins airing.

July

• 31 - HINATAZAKA46 Live Online, YES! with YOU! ～"22nin" no Ongakutai to Fuugawarina～ is held online.
  • The concert reproduced the cancelled Hinatazaka46 National Spring Arena Tour 2020, using the set list, the special stage, and the production details.
  • Kageyama Yuka performed in concert again for the first time since 2018.

August

• 7 - San-nen Me no Debut, Hinatazaka46's first documentary film, is released in theaters.

September

• 21 - Matsuda Konoka announces her hiatus to receive treatment for an eye condition.
• 23 - Hinatazaka, Hinatazaka46's first album, is released.

October

• 4 - The group performs at Tokyo Idol Festival 2020 for the third time.
• 15 - Hinatazaka46 x DASADA Fall&Winter Collection is held online.
• 20 - Belc presents Hinatazaka46 no Yokei na Koto Made Yarimashou! radio program begins with Color Chart as radio personalities.

November

• 21 - Miyata Manamo announces her hiatus from all Hinatazaka46 activities due to poor physical condition.

December

• 24 - Hinakuri 2020 ～Obake Hotel to 22nin no Santa Claus～ is held online.
  • This concert marked the return of Matsuda Konoka from her hiatus.
• 31 - The group performs Azato Kawaii at the 71st NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen, marking their 2nd appearance on the program.

2021

January

• 19 - Saito Kyoko releases her photobook Totteoki no Koibito.

March

• 7 - Sakamichi Series collaboration drama Borderless starring Saito Kyoko and Hamagishi Hiyori with Nogizaka46 and Sakurazaka46 members begins airing.
• 26 & 27 - Hinatazaka46 Debut 2nd Anniversary Special 2days ~MEMORIAL LIVE: 2nd Hinatansai~ is held with a small live audience.
  • The concert marked the return of Miyata Manamo from her hiatus.
• 31 - The variety show Kyoccorohee with Saito Kyoko as co-MC starts.

April

• 27 - HINA SATSU VOL.01, Hinatazaka46's first offshoot photobook, is released.
• 28 - Koeharu!, Hinatazaka46's second drama, begins airing on NTV and Hulu.

May

• 25 - Sasaki Mirei announces her hiatus from all Hinatazaka46 activities due to poor physical condition.
• 26 - Kimi Shika Katan, Hinatazaka46's fifth single, is released.
  • As part of their hit campaign for Hinatazaka de Aimashou, a cheerleading performance of the song was livestreamed on Youtube.

June

• 26 - Kosaka Nao announces her hiatus from all Hinatazaka46 activities due to poor physical condition.
• 29 - Kosaka Nao releases her photobook Kimi wa Dare?.

July

• 9 - 11 - W-KEYAKI FES. 2021 is held at the Fuji-Q Highland Conifer Forest, marking the group's first concert with Sakurazaka46 (formerly Kanji Keyakizaka46) since 2018. The concert takes place at the same location as previous Keyaki Republic concerts, where both groups performed together twice before.
  • The concert marked the return of Sasaki Mirei from her hiatus.

September

• 15 - Zenkoku Ohisama Kakeikaku 2021 tour begins in Hiroshima. The tour would continue until October 20th, where it would conclude in Aichi.

October

• 2 - Hinakoi presents Hinatazaka46 Matsuda Konoka no Hinatazaka Koukou Housoubu with Matsuda Konoka as main personality begins.
• 3 - The group performs at Tokyo Idol Festival 2021 for the fourth year in a row.
• 5 - The group performs at MTV LIVE MATCH 2021.
  • Additionally, Hanachanzu perform as the opening act.
• 27 - Tteka, Hinatazaka46's sixth single, is released.

November

• 5 - The online event "Hinatazaka46×KOEHARU LIVESHOW!" was held.
• 6 - A special livestream of Hinachoi was held.

December

• 24 - 25 - Hinakuri 2021 is held in Makuhari Messe.
  • 3rd_Anniversary_MEMORIAL_LIVE_~3rd_Hinatansai~ was announced to be held in Tokyo Dome.
• 31 - The group performs Kimi Shika Katan at the 72nd NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen, marking their 3rd appearance on the program.

• 3 - Kawata Hina releases her photobook Omoide no Junban.

• 7 - Auditions for the 4th generation were announced.

• 5 - It was announced that 16 members caught COVID-19.

• 1 - Boku Nanka, Hinatazaka46's seventh single, is released.
• 28 - Watanabe Miho Graduation Ceremony was held.

• 8 - Hinatazaka46's second documentary film Kibou to Zetsubou is released in theaters.
• 21 & 23 - Performed at W-Keyaki Fes 2022.
• 26 - Nibu Akari releases her photobook Yasashii Kankei.

August

• 7 - The group performs at Tokyo Idol Festival 2022 for the fifth year in a row.

September

• 7 - Miyata Manamo announced her graduation on her blog.
• 10 - Hinatazaka46 Happy Smile Tour 2022 begins in Aichi. The tour would continue until November 13th, where it would conclude in Tokyo.
• 13 - Higashimura Mei releases her photobook Mitsuketa.
• 21 - Teaser was released on Hinatazaka46's official Youtube to announce reveal of Hinatazaka46 4th Generation members. The 12 members were revealed on the Youtube channel over the next 12 days.

October

• 26 - Tsuki to Hoshi ga Odoru Midnight, Hinatazaka46's eighth single, is released.

December

• 17 - 18 - Hinakuri 2022 is held in Ariake Arena.
• 20 - Kanemura Miku releases her photobook Rashinban.
• 31 - The group performs Kitsune at the 73rd NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen, marking their 4th appearance on the program.

February

• 11 - 12 - The Hinatazaka46 4th Generation performed 4th Generation Omotenashikai at Makuhari Messe Event Hall.
• 17 - Kageyama Yuka announced her graduation on her blog.

April

• 1 - 2 - 4th Hinatansai is held in Yokohama Stadium.
• 19 - One choice, Hinatazaka46's ninth single is released.
• 20 - Hinatazaka46 Takkyuu No. 1 Senshuken, a 5 episode program, started airing on TV Tokyo, This was to commemerate the group being appointed as supporters for the Japan National Table Tennis team in the 2023 World Table Tennis Championships.
• 26 - Hinatazaka ni Narimashou begins airing on Lemino.
• 30 - Hinatazaka Channel, a channel dedicated to videos other than music, is launched.

June

• 20 - Kato Shiho releases her photobook #Aitai.

July

• 18 - Takeuchi Kirari went on hiatus due to being bitten by a dog while filming for Hinatazaka ni Narimashou. She returned on August 10th.
• 19 - Kageyama Yuka Graduation Ceremony is held.
• 26 - Am I ready?, Hinatazaka46's tenth single is released.

August

• 4 - Hinata Academy begins airing. The first season aired for 9 episodes while the second season, which started in November aired for 7 episodes.
• 6 - The group performs at Tokyo Idol Festival 2023 for the sixth year in a row.
• 25 - Nibu Akari is announced to start her hiatus due to ongoing back pain problems.
• 30 - 31 - Started the 2023 Hinatazaka46 Happy Train Tour 2023 with performances at Osaka-Jo Hall for their Osaka leg of the tour.

September

• 9 - It was announced that Hinakoi presents Hinatazaka46 Matsuda Konoka no Hinatazaka Koukou Housoubu will be discontinuing after September 2023 and Matsuda Konoka will host a new radio program, Hinatazaka46 Matsuda Konoka All Night Nippon 0, once a month on the last Saturday from October 2023.
• 12 - It was announced that there will not be a HinaKuri, which has been held every year since 2018, this year.
• 12 - Kamimura Hinano releases her 1st photobook Sono Mama de.
• 13 - The 4th Hinatansai is released on bluray and DVD.
• 14 - Ushio Sarina announced her graduation on her blog.

• 9 - Kishi Honoka is announced to be on hiatus due to ongoing health issues.

• 3 - The Hinatazaka46 4th Generation started off the joint Sakamichi event, Shinzaimono, with their first performance.
• 8 - Released their 2nd album, Myakuutsu Kanjou.
• 10 - First episode of the second season of Hinata Academy is aired.
• 22 - Won the Best Cinematography for the Am I ready? MV at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan.

December

• 7 - Kishi Honoka announced on her blog that she will be withdrawing from her Hinatazaka46 activities due to health issues.
• 9 - Ushio Sarina had her graduation ceremony on the first day of Additional Performance of Hinatazaka46 Happy Train Tour 2023.
• 24 - The bluray containing Hiragana Christmas 2018, Hinakuri 2019 ～17nin no Santa Claus to Sora no Christmas～, Hinakuri 2020 ～Obake Hotel to 22nin no Santa Claus～, Hinakuri 2021 and Hinakuri 2022 was released.
• 30 - Nibu Akari announced on her blog that she has returned from hiatus, which she was on since August.

2024

January

• 3 - Hinatazaka46 Takkyuu No. 1 Senshuken Dantaisen, a team tournament between all members split into 8 teams, was aired on BS TV Tokyo.
• 11 - Saito Kyoko announced her graduation on her blog.
• 23 - Triangle magazine 02 featuring Kosaka Nao, Kanemura Miku & Shogenji Yoko was rekeased.

February

• 14 - After you!, a single by Saito Kyoko as part of the Kyoccorohee duo, was released.
• 16 - 24 - As part of the Japanese Table Tennis Team support ambassadors, Sasaki Mirei, Sasaki Kumi and Matsuda Konoka reported on the World Team Table Tennis Championships from Busan, South Korea.

March

• 1 - "WE R!", an exhibition held in Roppongi Museum, opened its doors. The exhibition ran until 19th May.
• 3 - Held the event "Daisuki Hinatazaka46! Hina Matsuri SP!!", a 2 hour variety and mini-live program, that was also livestreamed on Lemino.
• 5 - Takamoto Ayaka announced her graduation on her blog.
• 9 - Performed Unibaru! Live 2024 at Universal Studios Japan.
• 12 - "WE R! in Tokyo Skytree", an exhibition held in Tokyo Skytree and in collaboration with the Roppongi Museum ehibition, opened its doors. The exhibition ran until 12th June.
• 19 - H46MODE vol.1, a group photobook to celebrate Hinatazaka46's 5th year anniversary was released.

April

• 5 - Hinatazaka46 "Saito Kyoko Graduation Concert" was held at Yokohama Stadium.
• 6-7 - 5th Hinatansai was held at Yokohama Stadium.

May

• 8 - Released their 11th single Kimi wa Honeydew.
• 28 - Matsuda Konoka releases her photobook Furimuite.

June

• 8 - Performed at Chagu Chagu Rock Festival 2024 in Iwate prefecture.
• 18 - Takamoto Ayaka released her photobook Boku no Kioku no Nake de.
• 21 - 23 - Held their first Hinatazaka 46 Hour TV live stream on their Hinatazaka Channel.

July

• 3 - 4 - Held the 11th Single Hinatazaka46 LIVE at Pacifico Yokohama, with Takamoto Ayaka graduation ceremony on the end of the second day.
• 13 - Performed at INSPIRE TOKYO 2024.
• 20 - Performed at Osaka Gigantic Music Festival 2024.

August

• 4 - 3rd Generation performed at Tokyo Idol Festival 2024.
• 4 - Auditions for the 5th generation were announced.
• 6 - Kato Shiho, Higashimura Mei, Nibu Akari and Hamagishi Hiyori announced their graduation on their respective blogs.
• 16 - The group was appointed as Miyazaki ambassadors. Nibu Akari and Takahashi Mikuni represented the group during the ceremony.
• 27 - 29 - Hinatazaka46 4th Members Live was held by the 4th Generation members.
• 31 - Performed at Song for Noto! 24hr TV Charity Live.

September

• 7 - 8 - Hinata Fes 2024 was held at Hinata Sun Marine Stadium.
• 10 - Kanemura Miku's photo exhibition, Mitomeru, opens its doors. It is scheduled to run until Oct 6.
• 18 - Released their 12th single, Zettaiteki Dairokkan.
• 27 - Belc presents Hinatazaka46 no Yokei na Koto Made Yarimashou! ended its run after 4 years.

October

• 4 - Shimizu Rio started her radio program, Shimizu Rio no Cheer up!.
• 5 - 6 - Hinatazaka Music Parade LIVE was held by the 4th Generation members. Senior members who made an appearance were Kato Shiho, Tomita Suzuka and Takahashi Mikuni.
• 23 - 24 - Held the 12th Single Hinatazaka46 LIVE at Yokohama Arena.
• 25 - Zenbu of Tokyo was released in theaters.

November

• 7 - Takahashi Mikuni was appointed as the vice-captain, as announced on Youtube Live stream.
• 20 - 21 - Kicked off the Hinatazaka46 Happy Magical Tour 2024 at Kobe.
• 30 - Nibu Akari Graduation Ceremony GAME DAY held.

December

• 1 - Nibu Akari Graduation Ceremony LIVE DAY held.
• 3 - Hamagishi Hiyori released her photobook Moshimo.
• 5 - Hamagishi Hiyori's Graduation Ceremony held at the Day 2 of the Fukuoka leg of the Happy Magical Tour 2024.
• 17 - Sasaki Mirei released her photobook Hizashi no Parade.
• 25 - 26 - Performed at Tokyo Dome for the second time in their history. Kato Shiho's Graduation Ceremony was held on Day 1 of the Tokyo Dome leg.

2025

January

• 6 - Sasaki Mirei, Sasaki Kumi and Takase Mana announced their graduation on their blogs.
• 25 - Higashimura Mei Graduation Ceremony was held.
• 29 - The 13th single Sotsugyou Shashin Dake ga Shitteru was released.

February

• 11 - Performed at All Night Nippon X Special Live.
• 16 - Held the Daisuki Hinatazaka46! Valentine SP live stream.
• 22 - 23 - The 4th Generation members held Hinatazaka Music Parade LIVE 2025. Senior members who made an appearance were Sasaki Mirei, Tomita Suzuka and Takahashi Mikuni.

March

• 2 - Performed at Idol Runway Collection 2025.
• 8 - 23 - The 4th Generation members performed The Quintessential Quintuplets play.
• 10 - Teaser was released on Hinatazaka Channel to announce reveal of Hinatazaka46 5th Generation members. The 10 members were revealed on the Youtube channel over the next 10 days.

April

• 5 - 6 - Held the 6th Hinatansai concert at Yokohama Stadium. The first day was also the graduation ceremony for Sasaki Mirei and the second day was also the graduation ceremony for Sasaki Kumi.
