There were rumors that it was a suicide, but Yui believed it was not because she had heard the student talk about his future dreams to become a voice actor. The tragedy left a deep impression on her, and she decided from then on that she would never jokingly tell someone to die, and that she would live a life without regrets.
- When she passed the AKB48 9th Generation audition she was made a Kenkyuusei candidate. There were 18 candidates, who needed to continue taking lessons and being evaluated before being made official Kenkyuusei. Yui still lived in Kyoto at the time, so she would go to school and work during the weekdays, then commute to Tokyo and take AKB48 lessons on weekends.

- She was the only AKB48 member to be from Kyoto Prefecture until Team 8's Ota Nao joined in 2014.
- She speaks in general Kansai dialect rather than in Kyoto sub-dialect.
- Her hometown is on the border between Kyoto and Nara Prefectures. Because of this Sashihara Rino nicknamed her "Nara".

- In 2013 she participated in the "AKB48 Challenge You Can" promotion for qualifications test prep company. She studied and took the exam for a pharmacy administration manager qualification.
