- Her later nickname Sou-chan derived from Soukantoku, the Japanese word for General Director.
- She was known for her "failing" (suberi) character on variety shows. For example, she was bad at comedy gags, and would tell stories that she thought were funny but were actually not.
- Her trademark hairstyle was long hair in a half-ponytail with a ribbon. She collected ribbons since the upper grades of elementary school.
- In May 2012 her hair caught on fire as a result of a stage pyrotechnic accident. Many inches were burned off, and she wore her hair in a bob without a ribbon for the remainder of her time in AKB48.
- She was known to have poor fashion sense. She was infamous for a banana-print white jacket, which she later gifted to Murashige Anna.
- She is very empathetic for others and cries easily.
- She is bad at academics, and according to Minegishi Minami she cannot name two Japanese prefectures quickly when asked, and is bad at kanji.
