- She is the only daughter in her family, with 2 older brothers
- During school, she learned to play the piano, how to tap dance, and was in Basketball club
- She is known for her energetic and friendly personality, hence the nick name "Genking"
- Often described as boyish, which is reflected in her image as the "ikemen idol"
- Is said to be a major mood maker off stage, especially for younger members
- Her closest friends are Akimoto Sayaka ("SaeYaka") and Oshima Yuko ("SaeYuu"). The three are known as Team K Trio and as Team Shinyuu ("Best Friend")
- Akimoto and Miyazawa are also called the Twin Towers of Team K
- She is close with various other members, including Kashiwagi Yuki ("SaeYuki") and Suzuki Mariya
