- She took piano lessons from ages 4 to 15, and also learned calligraphy.
- Her family got their first computer when she was in second grade of elementary school. She began exploring online fan websites at that time and became an otaku.
- She was a good student in elementary school. In middle school she remained strong at subjects like English, but was poor at mathematics.
- She became a fan of Morning Musume after the release of LOVE Machine. She collected Morning Musume and Hello!Project photo cards and traded them at school.
- She was also a fan of Berryz Kobo and ℃-ute.
- Her Morning Musume oshimen was Kamei Eri, her Berry Kobo oshimen was Kumai Yurina, and her ℃-ute oshimen was Hagiwara Mai. She said that because idol groups rarely held concerts in her home island of Kyushu, she needed to have an oshimen in every group for it to not become boring.
- She went to a Goto Maki (ex-Morning Musume) concert in fifth grade. This was her first time going to a concert.
- She got glasses for the first time at age 8. She switched to contact lenses at age 11, but her skin condition became poor around the same time, and she jokingly calls this preteen period "the biggest ugly period in history".
- She went to Oita Municipal Oji Junior High School. SKE48's Yakata Miki was her classmate, and Ono Haruka was her upperclassman (she was in the same class as Rino's older brother).
- She was in the brass band club in junior high school. She played trombone. Her school had a strong band and participated in a Kyushu regional tournament when she was a freshman.
- In junior high school she also volunteered to help care for students with disabilities. She would clean up after the disabled students after lunch and try to invite them to activities.
- She says that junior high school was when she became a "full-fledged idol otaku". On the Internet she became known as the "Legendary Female Idol Otaku of Oita Prefecture". However, she tried to hide her interests from her classmates.
- She came to know Kashiwagi Yuki at this time. Yuki was similarly known as the "Legendary Female Idol Otaku of Kagoshima Prefecture".
- She failed Morning Musume's auditions.
- She first saw AKB48 perform live in March 2007 at the Fukuoka show of the AKB48 Haru no Chotto dake Zenkoku Tour ~Madamada Daze AKB48!~.
- She experienced bullying in her third year of junior school. A group of girls from an athletic team began calling her names and leaving mean letters in her mailbox at home. It deeply affected her, and she started to skip school.
- She did not want to stay in Oita any longer, and considered applying for a study abroad in Australia since she liked English. However, she heard about the AKB48 5th Generation auditions at this time and decided to apply. She knew that if she passed she would be able to go to high school in Tokyo instead.
- Her father was opposed to her auditioning for AKB48. She asked for his permission with a formal bow and he finally agreed.
- During the audition period for AKB48 she visited Tokyo for the first time with her mother. She saw a Himawarigumi 1st Stage performance live at the AKB48 Theater.
- While watching the show she said she felt like Kuramochi Asuka was dancing BINGO! just for her.
- When she first moved to Tokyo after passing the AKB48 audition she lived in a two-bedroom apartment in Ebisu, Tokyo with other members of the 4th and 5th Generation who were not from the Tokyo area. One month later her mother decided to move to Tokyo as well and Rino began living with her.
- She famously injured her back during the 5th Generation's first ever dance lesson. Nito Moeno says she found it cute how Rino cried in frustration at the injury.
- She was promoted to Team B on August 2nd, 2008. She was given the center position for the unit song Kagami no Naka no Jean Da Arc after Kikuchi Ayaka was dismissed from the group due to a scandal.
- She is known for her talent in comedy and MC. She has worked on many variety shows that are not tied to the 48 Groups.
- Despite her outgoing character on television, she describes her personality as shy and withdrawn.

- She was a member of the fake group "SONE" with Kitahara Rie, Minegishi Minami and Miyazaki Miho, that regularly participated on Request Hour MCs. They disbanded in 2014.
